How did GMO appear?
To conduct this investigation we had to explore the history of Genetically modified organisms first.
We followed the whole way of their appearing in our life since the very beginning.
GMO didn't appear yesterday. It the countries, having highly developed genetic technologies, such experiments have been conducted sicne the end of 1960-s. For a long period th scientists had been thinking that the ddevelopment of the genetic engineering would help the mankind to overcome the problem of hunger in some backward retarded agricultural regions.
So the idea is rather noble - our planet is more and more overcrowded nowadays. And different natural cataclysms are very often. The scientists decided to create artificial food, having high taste and appearance peculiarities, in order to pevent lack of it if something terrible happens.
America was the pioneer in this field. They started inegrating GMP at the beginning of1990-s. By 2002 this country has sown 75% of their fields with genetically modified soya, 34% - crops, 71% - cotton. They say that even the american dollars are made from the genetically modified cotton.
Well, GMO are the plants and the animals which have alien genes in their DNA-chains.For example, the american genetists invented frostproof tomatoes and potatoes (they have genes of flat-fish and snowdrops.To say it easier, GMO are the organisms that were grown after the alien genes had been built into their DNA-chains.
And now the bugs do not eat the potatoes, pesticides do not spoil soya and corn, and tomatoes become red in time, while the weeds die nearby. It's a fairy tale! GM-plants are worth to grow them. They are easy-going, long-keeping and have strong taste. they are highly harvestable.
